G elykwater Bonsmara was established in 2005, in the Babanango area of Kwa-Zulu Natal. We breed medium-framed animals that are easy fleshing. We aim at fertile females that wean a calf every year, with good mothering ability and that are adapted to cold winters and hot summers. Our sires are bred in the direction of being shorter, wider and easy fleshing with good libido. We do artificial insemination and embryo flushing, which shorten the time for us to reach our goals to produce healthy, fertile, medium-framed animals well suited to the climates of South Africa.
